About the Department
The Philosophy Department of the college is one of its oldest departments, established in 1964. Philosophy as an Hons. Subject was introduced in the year 2002.The Department of Philosophy offers an Undergraduate Hons. Course. Also it offers IDC., Generic Elective Courses, and Minor Courses to other Hons. Candidates and B.A. (General \ MDC.) Programs. Students are selected in accordance with the Calcutta University admission criteria. The approved intake capacity for Hons. Students of the Department is 81. The department is well known for its outstanding academic performances. Our Hons. Graduates move on to pursue successful postgraduate studies and research at University of Calcutta, Jadavpur University and other esteemed state universities.
