About the Department
The Mathematics Department of the college is one of its oldest departments, established in 1964. Mathematics as an Honours subject was introduced in the year 2002. The Department of Mathematics offers an undergraduate Honours course. Also, it offers IDC, Generic Electives Courses, Minor Courses, and Skill Enhancement courses to other Honours courses and B.Sc. General Programs. Students are selected in accordance with the Calcutta University admission criteria. The Department has a sanctioned strength of 63 students. The Department is well-known for its outstanding academic reputation. Our graduates move on to pursue successful postgraduate studies and research at IITs, NITs, Calcutta University, and other esteemed central and state universities in India.
