About the Department
The Department of Economics was established in 1964 along with the establishment of the Institute. Interdisciplinary courses of business economics, Indian financial system micro and macro economics is also offered for the students of commerce department. Over the last fifty nine years, the Department has contributed a great deal to the Indian society and economy through its teaching and research. The department is like a family where the teachers and students are involved in the teaching-learning process not only during class hours but also beyond that. This department has got the glorious tradition of human resource development with its students involved in varied professions catering to different segments of the economy.
