In the arena of social science, the term ‘Education’ refers to a wide range of things. It refers to a continuing process of gathering knowledge through experiences throughout a person’s life. Education in its true form means educating the mind as well as the heart. The aim of education is not to prepare and produce academic giants but to produce human beings in the true sense; ones who cry at others’ grief and smile at others’ joy. Someone has rightly said, “It is great to be great, but it is greater to be humane.”
The Dept. of Education of Shyampur Siddheswari Mahavidyalaya works proficiently and aims to teach students and provide them an insight to education and its requirements in different sections of the society and also promotes the development of soft skills. It also provides them knowledge about educational history in India and abroad and efforts taken by different educationists to educate the society. Since its inception in 2009, it has worked tirelessly to promote and encourage education and learning among the students. The Dept. currently has three experienced faculty members, each with more than five years of teaching experience who are trying their best to inculcate knowledge as well as real-life values and skills among the students.
