Political Science as a craft of political community and its ideal governance is one of the earliest explored, contemplated, philosophized and practiced activity of the human civilization. It was in the 4th Century BC Aristotle that wrote Politics and later in 3 rd Century BC Kautilya wrote Arthashastra, both seminal treatises on politics, they still find their relevance in today’s digital world. Political science is the study of state, government machinery and aspires to achieve best governance. In present day Political Science seeks to achieve a liberal and just society and it does so by introducing students to concepts of democracy, liberty, equality, laws, rights exploitation, oppression and emancipation. While politics deals with the distribution of resources and power within a society, Political Science will help students understand politics at both national and international level. The course offered by the Department of Political Science helps students to develop a critical approach to contemporary issues such as Inequality, Climate Change, Democratization and Democratic Resilience, Feminism, Identity and Political Participation and others. A Bachelor's Degree in political science has immense value and employability. One can seek career in business, government, journalism, education, NGOs, INGOs, and as pesophologist.
