Concession :
- Students’ Welfare :
The Students’ Union functions to promote the welfare of the students. It asists the Principal in selecting students for awarding concession in tuitions fees and granting lump sum financial assistance from the Students’ Aid Fund. - Concession in Tuition Fees :
Concession in tuition fees are granted to the poor but meritorious students, as per Government Rules & Regulations, for ten month of each session. Application has to be made in the prescribed from to be had from the college office. Concession in tuition fees shall be discontinued if the student’s conduct, attendance and progress are not found satisfactory. - Concession in Railway and Bus Tickets :
Railway quarterly concession tickets are permissible as per the Indian Railway Rules, to a student coming from home by train. Students may also avail themselves of concessional bus fare rates while travelling to and from home to college by bus plying in Bagnan-Shyampur Route as per rules of the Bus Syndicate concerned.
Scholarship and Prizes :
- Vidyasagar Award for the students of Elective Bengali :
A student of this college securing highest marks in Elective Bengali (not less than 50%) in the B.A. Final Examination of the University will receive the ‘Vidyasagar Award’ in the form of Cash Prize of sum of rupees accrued from the annual interest of a fixed deposit of Rs.5000/- (five thousand) contributed by Prof. Asutosh Samanta, a retired teacher of the department of Bengali of this college. - Sarat Award for the students of Bengali (Honours) :
A student of this college securing highest marks (not less than 50%) in Bengali (Honours) in his or her final examination of the University will be given a cash prize of sum of rupees assured from the annual interest of the fixed deposit of Rs.10000/- (ten thousand) donated by Prof. Asutosh Samanta, a retired teacher of the department of Bengali of this college. - Pulinbihari Bhandari Smriti Award for the students of Mathematics (Honours) :
A student in Mathematics Honours securing the highest marks in Mathematics (Honours) in his/her final examination of the University will be awarded a prize accrued from the annual interest of Rs.10000/- (ten thousand) donated by Sri Mukul Bhandari, a retired teacher of the Mathematics department of this college. - Tarapada Bhattachariya Smriti Award for the students of Philosophy (Honours) :
A student of Philosophy Honours securing highest marks in Philosophy (Honours) in his/her final examination of the University is given the award. The recipient of this award gets the cash prize of money accrued from the annual interest of the fixed deposit of Rs.20000/- (twenty thousand) donated by Dr. Pinaki Ranjan Bhattacharya (Department of Philosophy) who retired on 31st March 2007. - Lilabati Smriti Award for the students of History (Honours) :
A student of History Honours of this college securing the highest marks in History (not less than 51%) in his/her final examination of the University is given the award. The recipient of this award gets a prize money accrued from the annual interest of the fixed deposit of Rs.10000/- (ten thousand) donated by Prof. B. Chakraborty, a retired teacher in the Department of History. - Chandra Mohan Ushangini Smriti Award for the students of Mathematics (Honours) :
Students in Mathematics Honours of this college obtaining First Class in Honours subject (Mathematics) in his/her final examination of the University are given the award. This is donated by Mr. Ratan Chandra Adhikari and Mrs. Anima Rani Adhikari, Nakole, Howrah.
