The genesis of the college was modest, as it offered general stream courses in humanities; science and commerce, but consolidating on the foundation of vision for growth, the curriculum bouquet soon started enriching itself to impart honours curriculum in many of the subjects and today the college has 21 departments of which 13 departments impart honours curriculum.
The college being the only one of its kind within the radial periphery of 25 kms, has delivered the need for higher education to a vast section of the under-privileged society for the last four and half decades, through the unquestioned commitment of teachers and the members of non-teaching staff.
